Unlike anything else that exists in the Boothbay area, the The East Boothbay General Store offers a wonderful community experience where neighbors and friends meet.

Here you’ll find all kinds of epicurean delights from around the globe, such as cheeses from near and far, cured bacon from Kentucky and chocolates from Europe.

We serve a selection of freshly baked morning goodies, fruit pies, cracking good sandwiches, thin crust hand tossed pizzas. Our thick and creamy chowders are available all summer long.

The cooler and shelves hold an eclectic mix of world wines and beers, of which our Oddbin wine selections are constantly changing.

EBGS is open seven days a week from May 16th to some time in the Fall.

Opening at 7am sharp, the extractor fan blows the appetizing aroma of breakfast pizza's cooking down route 96.

In the afternoon's you might find the aroma has changed to the sweet joy of peanut butter cookies being baked.

Arthur, our friendly newspaper delivery man arrives at a reasonable time every morning.

We carry the Boston Globe, New York Times, Financial Times, Portland Press Herald and Wall Street Journal, and of course on Sunday we have The Boston Globe, NY Sunday Times and Maine Sunday Telegram.

Sorry but we don't reserve papers so advise coming early to avoid disappointment.

The much loved and very well read Boothbay Register lands here every Thursday, it's the best way to know all the news and events taking place in town that week.

During every weekend in July and August the kitchen crew make donuts the old traditional way at a labor intensive five at a time rate.
Hand cut and deep fried, they taste great.
Compliment your morning donut with a cup of our own roast 'Route 96' coffee.

We now offer replacement propane gas bottles for your grill, and remember if you need ice we can supply big and small bags plus blocks, great for a day on the water or for keeping that party going.

In 2008 The East Boothbay General Store started to sell soft serve ice cream, long may this tradition continue!
We were shocked to learn that there are only 2 more places in the region that offer soft serve. As a result we go through a lot of ice cream! Chocolate and Vanilla are the order of the day, a tradition we cant change.

The store also has a freezer chock full of Gelato by Gelato Fiasco. Packed in pints ready to go home with you. Made 25 miles away in Brunswick you'd have thought they were just delivered from Rome!

With a soda fountain and frozen drinks bar we can make all sorts of refreshing summer soothing drinks. Come and check out our drinks menu.
