In 2008 the shipyard suffered an horrendous fire which completely destroyed it's main building.  After a short time and with the support of the local community and with help from the state the yard rose from the ashes to the amazing new state of the art building you can see today.

With extra capacity and modern equipment the yard is working on several boats at the same time ensuring that one of the states largest employers retains the skills and traditions needed to survive.
